The Timeline Consortium was founded in 2016 to develop a metadata standard designed to faciliate the easy ingest of time-related data into online timeline tools. The original proposal, to the Sloan Foundation, that began the project is online here.
The diagram below offers a sketch of how the standard being developed by the members of the Timeline Consortium will be used, and tested with a prototype tooll being developed.
