The Timeline Consortium was founded in 2016 to develop a metadata standard designed to facilitate the easy ingest of time-related data into online timeline tools. The diagram offers a sketch of how the [standard](/standard) being developed by the [members](/members) of the Timeline Consortium will be used, and tested with a [prototype tool](/description-and-purpose)l being developed.
